Ideally located on a peaceful street in sunny San Rafael, near the award-winning Glenwood Elementary School, this ultra-contemporary split-level 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home has been recently renovated to include the latest amenities for today’s modern lifestyle. With 2,007 square feet of living space boasting a wonderful indoor-outdoor flow, the home is loaded with convenient “Smart” features, such as a state-of-the-art kitchen with remote controlled appliances, a voice-activated lighting system, and a spectacular exterior space with outdoor kitchen and firepit.

Enter the residence up a short flight of stairs through a keyless entry system with video camera, and step into a spacious living room over hardwood flooring. Opposite the front door a large contemporary built-in shelving unit with accent lighting serves as the focal point of the room, which also includes a wood-burning fireplace and a large bay window with a wood-topped window seat.

From the living room step outside through a sliding glass door to a gorgeous side yard offering a state-of-the-art sport court featuring a Spaulding Glass basketball system and all-weather sports surface next to a cozy firepit and grass lawn with smart system irrigation.

The living room is adjacent to a dining room with modern light fixtures overhead and windows looking out to the back yard. The dining room is flanked by a white quartz topped breakfast bar which separates the dining space from the recently renovated kitchen.

With a modern minimalist sensibility, the kitchen features white quartz countertops and floor-to-ceiling white cabinetry, which is seamlessly integrated into remotely controlled appliances including Fisher Paykel refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, and induction cooktop. On the far wall, a high-end Bosch automatic coffee machine, Bosch hybrid electric/convection oven, and microwave are built into a sleek stainless steel wall unit.

Step outside a glass door from the kitchen to access a brick patio boasting an outdoor kitchen complete with built-in barbeque grill, two-burner stovetop, and beverage fridge, along with apple and lemon trees, adjacent an outdoor dining area for al fresco meals, underneath voice activated lighting.

Head up a half flight of stairs to find four bedroom retreats. On the left, a primary suite features a window with nature views, a large fully-outfitted walk-in closet, and an en-suite bathroom with Porcelanosa tile, European bidet-style toilet, modern vanity with vessel sink, and shower with rainwater fixture.

Adjacent to the primary bedroom through a pocket door, find a convenient 2nd bedroom perfectly situated for an office or nursery with a fully outfitted mirrored closet. Step across the hall to another full bathroom offering crisp navy cabinetry with modern floating vanity, dual flush toilet, and shower with hexagon tile flooring. Down the hall are two additional well-appointed bedrooms, each with fully outfitted closets, double paned windows and built-in shelving and bookcase units.

From the main level head down a few stairs to a family room, which includes a private patio and an updated half bath. Access the garage at this level to find laundry facilities with front loading Samsung washer and dryer, and abundant built-in storage, including a lift storage system.

Step out the front door and you’re in the family-friendly neighborhood of Glenwood, adjacent open space, and trails, close to the bay, the park, Andy’s local market and the coveted shops of central Marin. The county seat of Marin, San Rafael is large, diverse, eclectic, and historic. That history stretches from California's beginnings, with the 1817 founding of Mission San Rafael on the old El Camino Real, to the construction of the eye-popping Marin Civic Center in the 1960s. Designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the Civic Center was completed in 1962 and is so futuristic that it pops up in science-fiction films.

San Rafael still looks to the future thanks to a vibrant downtown redevelopment effort. The focal point of downtown is the Smith Rafael Film Center, which features a state–of-the-art multiplex cinema that screens independent and foreign films.  Cuisine is eclectic: within a few blocks of 4th Street diners can find sushi, Indian, Thai, Italian, Mexican, and Puerto Rican food. Thursday afternoons in the spring and summer find 4th Street hosting a farmers market, which features live music.
The neighborhoods of San Rafael are equally distinctive. From the sought-after midcentury Eichler homes of Terra Linda to the Victorians that surround Dominican College and the custom homes of Lucas Valley, San Rafael provides diversity of price and style.

It's also easy to get away from it all in San Rafael. Nearby China Camp State Park is a jewel by the bay, offering: a kid-friendly, walk-in campground for tents only; a shallow, protected swimming beach; and biking and running trails.
